Peter Chapman Poetry

Finding metaphor in the idea of goals, of ambition, Peter Chapman has striven, always, to be happy. Early stints of writing for newspapers, a womens' college and a theatrical booking agency found a deference and preference for traveling in small boats, swimming, bicycling, and the judicious application of cocktails at over 1000 private parties in the Washington DC area.

His poems have appeared in small journals from Florida to California and he has received honors from the Maryland Writers Association and the Not Just Air Literary eJournal. Peter has given many readings of his work from street corners to universities, and, for a brief and glorious time, he hosted a venerable reading series in the Fells Point area of Baltimore.

In the jumble of his rooms in Florida is a small, handlettered sign stuck to a mirror which reads:

Be Weather
